Music at the Munson Concert Benefit for the South Amherst Conservation Association folksinger-songwriter Paul Kaplan and jazz combo The Doug Hewitt Group 7:30 pm, Sunday, March 15th Munson Library, 1046 South East St., Amherst, MA Admission: $10 (12 and under free).

Paul Kaplan has released five albums and seen his songs covered by some of folk's finest, such as Sally Rogers, David Massengill, Ed McCurdy and Sharon, Lois and Bram. Paul has been honored by the inclusion of his songs in two monumental historical collections produced by Smithsonian Folkways. One of his first songs, "Vietnam," appears in the Grammy-nominated "Best of Broadside," while a second song, "King of Hearts," is featured in "Fast Folk - A Community of Singers & Songwriters." The Doug Hewitt Group offers a creative blend of jazz, rock, and originals as well as classic covers and dance tunes. Lead guitar Doug Hewitt will be joined by talented band-mates Robby Roiter (bass), John Crankshaw (drums), Mitch Pine (piano and vocals) and Dani Lorenzo (vocals and violin). Also appearing with the band will be special guests David Beauvais (saxophone) and Nancy Rockland-Miller (vocals.)
