The Valley Jazz Divas are Jill Connolly, Barbara Weene and Carol Abbe Smith. Jill Connolly is happiest when singing. Give her blues, rock, gospel, jazz... the list goes on. Her jazz influences are Ella, Sarah, Carmen and of course her mentor Sheila Jordon. Her "Venus in Transit" CD is a gorgeous compilation of songs, featuring some of the areas finest musicians. Carol Abbe Smith started singing in her mom’s musical revues at age 3 dressed in a pink bunny suit. Moving upward she has acted and sung in local musical theatre, as well as the Valley Light Opera.
The Doug Hewitt Group performs uniquely original rock & jazz drawing from many years of song writing plus covers ranging from John Coltrane to the Beatles. Last year Doug released "Picasso Tomato" his 6th album of all original music which is the group's main source of material. The Doug Hewitt Group performs three styles of shows: jazz, rock and originals which fuse those genres. The band is Doug Hewitt on guitar and vocals, John Crankshaw on drums, Mitch Pine on piano, Robby Roiter on bass. Doug owns Watercourse Recording Studio and has been teaching music for 26 years.
Zack Danziger says that all he does is music... with the exception of sleeping, eating, playing Ping Pong, petting his cats, and dreaming about solar power. He is a middle school teacher in Southwick with 15 years of teaching experience in NYC and MA. He has a Master's Degree in Jazz Performance from Queens College in Queens, NY and a Bachelor's Degree in music from Herbert Lehman College in the Bronx.
